The Skylanders Story

The story is this: The Skylanders  are a group of mythical creatures, and each one has its own personality, powers  and characteristics.  For generations, they  have used their magical powers, weapons and  battle skills to protect their homeland, known as the Skylands.  Yet now, they are threatened by an evil tyrant, who has used his evil powers to banished them to Earth. Only the player, who is also a portal master, is able to physically put Skylanders into the Portal of Power – joining Earth and the Skylands -- and bring the Skylanders back to life in their own world, to enable them to battle to save Skylands forever.

Which Game System Is Best For Skylanders?

Since Skylanders is available for all major game systems, it works fine with each one, and can also work across systems!  But we like the Wii best, and here's why:  If you're looking for a game console to buy to go with the Skylanders game, you likely have young kids.  The Wii is still the best game console for younger kids, because it's so easy to use, and also there are many more games developed for kids on the Wii.  Since the Wii has been out for years longer than the other motion-sensitive game systems, there are many more kid-friendly games on the market for the Wii. Not least of all, the Wii is the most affordable!  It's selling right now for less than $150, and you can't get pricing like that on any other console.  if you're in the market for a new game console, you might consider the Nintendo Wii since the best deals on Wii console are less expensive than the competition, and also Skylanders for Wii is also cheaper than for other platforms.   The Wii is great for younger kids, so it's a win-win to get Skylanders and the Wii system.
